SRTC Appoints New Board Member Tonya Brown

Thomasville, GA (09/14/2026) — Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) President Jim Glass is pleased to announce the addition of Tonya Brown of Moultrie to the SRTC Board of Directors. Brown was sworn in during the Board of Directors meeting in Thomasville on September 9 and will serve SRTC for a term of 3 years.

Brown brings more than 25 years of progressive healthcare human resources experience to the board, along with over 20 years of leadership within an integrated health system. She currently serves as Human Resources Director for Colquitt Regional Health System, where she provides executive leadership for HR across the system, including Colquitt Regional Medical Center, Sterling Physician Group, Georgia South Graduate Medical Education, Colquitt Regional Dialysis, Colquitt Regional Senior Care & Rehabilitation, Edwards Cancer Center, and Vereen Rehabilitation Center. As a member of the Executive Management Team, she guides workforce planning, organizational development, succession planning, and employee engagement across the health system.

Brown began her career with Colquitt Regional Medical Center in 1999 as a Personnel Assistant and steadily advanced through the organization, serving as Assistant Director of Human Resources for 16 years before stepping into her current role in 2020. Along the way, she has led initiatives in talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, and healthcare compliance, and she directed the organization's conversion of employee personnel records from paper files to secure electronic systems. Under her leadership, employee satisfaction scores have exceeded 95 percent.

Brown holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University and an Associate of Science degree from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. She is an active member of the Georgia Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration, where she currently serves as Leadership Team Co-Chair, and she is a member of the Moultrie Kiwanis Club.

"We are excited to welcome Tonya Brown to our Board of Directors," said SRTC President Jim Glass. "Her decades of experience in healthcare human resources and organizational leadership give her a deep understanding of workforce development and what it takes to prepare people for meaningful careers. Her insight will be a tremendous asset to our college and the students we serve."

The Board's purpose is to advise the college on program direction, to serve as a check and balance for the development and implementation of college goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, and to advocate for SRTC within the community. The State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia approves each local board member.
