SRTC Commencement Ceremonies Honor Class of 2026

Bainbridge, GA (08/12/2026) — On July 29, 2026, Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) held two Commencement ceremonies in Bainbridge in honor of the graduates who completed their programs during the spring and summer semesters of 2026. The ceremonies recognized the accomplishments of 1,390 graduates, with over 400 graduates in attendance. Graduates' friends and family filled the Student Wellness Center gym to capacity, celebrating the class of 2026.

SRTC's graduation ceremonies were a day of awarding degrees, diplomas, and certificates to students who had completed their respective credit programs or high school equivalency credentials. Many graduates received multiple honors, as several programs include embedded certificates that students earn in the course of completing a program.

SRTC President Jim Glass addressed the graduates, thanking them for choosing SRTC and extending his appreciation to the family and friends who supported the students throughout their college journey. He encouraged the graduates to carry the lessons they learned at SRTC with them as they move forward in their education and their careers.

Glass has led SRTC since being appointed President in 2019 and has spent 11 years with the college since its 2015 merger with Moultrie Technical College, where he had worked since 2003.

This summer's graduating class reflects continued growth across several of SRTC's programs. The college's Commercial Truck Driving program produced over 100 graduates between the spring and summer semesters, a reflection of the program's expanding role in preparing students for in-demand careers in transportation and logistics. The Practical Nursing program graduated over 40 students, while the Associate of Science in Nursing program graduated over 80, continuing SRTC's standing as the top producer of Associate of Science in Nursing graduates in Georgia. Emergency Medical Technician and Emergency Medical Responder programs together graduated over 60 students, underscoring SRTC's growing footprint in emergency medical services training. The Welding program graduated over 400 students, reflecting continued strong demand for skilled trades training.

Southern Regional Technical College offers over 150 degree, diploma, and certificate programs that are designed to get students quickly into their desired careers, and 38 general education courses that transfer to the University System of Georgia institutions and 19 private colleges and universities in Georgia. SRTC has instructional sites located in eleven counties across Southwest Georgia for the convenience of its students. The College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.
