Record Enrollment Growth at Southern Regional Technical College for Fall 2025

Thomasville, GA (09/11/2025) — Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) has achieved an increase in enrollment for the tenth consecutive semester since the fall of 2022. The college's total enrollment for the fall 2025 semester is 5,944, up from the 2024 fall enrollment of 5,324. This 11.6% growth is well over the Technical College System of Georgia's average of 8.4% growth. SRTC also saw a 14.9% increase in Full Time Equivalent enrollment from fall 2024 to fall 2025, well over the system average of 9.2%. It also marks another milestone for the college's largest fall semester enrollment to date!

SRTC President Jim Glass credits the college's strong growth to the combined efforts of faculty and staff. "Our faculty members are committed to providing the kind of high-quality education that is required in our service delivery area," commented Glass. "Before an individual can become a successful graduate, however, they must first become a successful student. Our staff frequently go far above and beyond for our students, assisting and supporting them every step of the way. From application to graduation, our students are never alone. I am proud to say that our team continually puts forth the kind of effort that our students deserve."

In March of 2022, President Jim Glass introduced the new enrollment campaign #GimmeFive to all employees. The objective of the #GimmeFive campaign is to serve as a reminder that all employees play an active role in meeting and exceeding the 5% enrollment growth target.

SRTC has added 35 new programs in the past 3 years to address the evolving demands of various industries and to equip students with the skills needed for contemporary job markets. SRTC has established a new partnership with the Georgia Institute of Technology, and through the Georgia AIM grant, SRTC has created new Manufacturing Engineering and Precision Machining labs to advance precision manufacturing offerings in our region. SRTC celebrated the grand opening of these programs with the community, students, faculty, staff, and community partners in May. This expansion continues with the ongoing construction of a state-of-the-art Industrial Technology Building on the Moultrie campus, set to open in spring 2026. This new facility will serve as a hub of innovation and learning, equipped with cutting-edge technology, including computer-aided welding equipment and automotive painting technology, further expanding SRTC's capacity to offer new programs tailored to meet the evolving needs of local businesses and industries.

SRTC saw an incredible 12.5% growth in Dual Enrollment from fall 2024 to fall 2025. This significant increase can be attributed to the college's enhanced marketing efforts, including targeted dual enrollment advertisements and organic student spotlight posts on social media that have successfully reached more high school students and their families. Additionally, SRTC's expanded partnerships with local high schools, such as offering more occupational courses at Worth County High School, have built stronger relationships and increased awareness of dual enrollment opportunities. The success of these on-site programs, which began due to exceptional student demand and Worth County's invitation for SRTC to conduct summer courses, has created momentum and visibility that carried into the fall enrollment period.

Southern Regional Technical College offers over 150 degree, diploma, and certificate programs that are designed to get students quickly into their desired careers, and 38 general education courses that transfer to the University System of Georgia institutions and 19 private colleges and universities in Georgia. SRTC has instructional sites located in eleven counties across Southwest Georgia for the convenience of its students. The College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SACSCOC is the regional body for the accreditation of degree-granting higher education institutions in the Southern states.
