Thomasville National Bank Donates $5,000 in Student Scholarships

Thomasville, GA (09/03/2025) — Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) is pleased to announce that Thomasville National Bank (TNB) has donated $5,000 in scholarships to support students enrolled in the college's business programs. The donation will fund five $1,000 scholarships for students pursuing degrees in Business Management, Business Technology, Accounting, and Marketing Management.

The TNB Scholarship program, established in Fall 2024, demonstrates the bank's ongoing commitment to educational excellence in its service delivery area. The scholarships are designed to follow recipients through completion of their chosen programs, with funds applicable toward tuition, fees, books, and other acceptable educational supplies.

"We are incredibly grateful for Thomasville National Bank's investment in our students," said Christina Reneau, Executive Director of Institutional Advancement at Southern Regional Technical College. "The TNB Scholarship removes financial barriers for deserving students in our business programs and demonstrates our shared commitment to developing the next generation of leaders in Thomas and Leon counties. This partnership truly reflects the transformative power of technical education in our community."

TNB's scholarship program specifically targets students who have applied for financial aid but are not receiving assistance, maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, and reside in the bank's service delivery areas of Thomas and Leon counties.

Melvin Hugans, TNB's Community Reinvestment Officer, expressed the bank's educational commitment, stating, "TNB is supportive of all students, but especially students who are working, studying, and preparing to be contributors to the continuous growth of Thomasville, Leon, and Thomas County."

The scholarship program reflects TNB's belief in the power of education and its recognition of students' potential to drive positive change within their communities. This initiative highlights the bank's dedication to investing in the future of the region by empowering students to gain valuable skills and knowledge that will prepare them for successful careers.
